purple wool and black leather

You made the right choice !

I just picked up the navy La Portegna card holder as a gift. First time I have seen their work in person. Great price to craftsmanship value IMO.
Spain has an incredible history of leatherworking. The only reason that Italy has such a great reputation is the remarkably successful "Made In Italy" campaign. Spain, at that same period, had Franco, which was not as great for PR.
Agreed. La Portegna stuff is particularly great because of the use of veg ten leather - I have seen those briefcases after a year or two of use and the leather is drop-dead gorgeous - rich patina, less stiff.

I have been seriously thinking about another luggage maker with really nice products that are made in Spain as well.
I just received my first shipment from NMWA and I applaud the little touches that made the unboxing so pleasant. Apart from the product (an Esemplare sweater) which was excellent, I truly appreciated the packaging, the receipt envelope and the personal note from Greg. Well done and thank you!
Thank you - your kind words are much appreciated. The Esemplare reverse-seam sweater is awesome, and also a particularly great value IMO.

By the way, I appreciate the post even more seeing that you've been a member for 7 years and only have made 115 post - I admire your restraint !

So, I received my fourth package from NMWA Friday, and once again, I am very pleased with my order. I picked up the navy gingham Mazzy shirt and the grey herringbone Rota trousers. The gingham Mazzy shirt is exactly what I expected--which is a good thing. The Rota trousers really blew me away. The light grey is very dynamic. It almost has a blue-ish hue, and is a very bright light grey. Wonderful choice of fabric.

To answer the question that someone asked earlier about how warm the rabbit fur gloves were, it's 34 degrees today and my hands stayed warm and toasty. And it might be a little late to ask but the gloves should be fine in a light drizzle right? (Please say yes)

Nice haul. I'm fighting bouts of remorse for not picking up another Mazz during the FC sale myself. Would you describe the Rotas as very "slim" or skinny fit in the legs?

Slim. I have fat legs, and they fit nicely. I would put them more on the slim end of the spectrum than the regular fitting end of the spectrum. But I do not think they are distractingly slim. And I am a pretty conservative dude.

The construction and fabrics are to die for on the Rotas. I too was reticent about dropping so much money on a pair of pants. But between the tailoring discount, and the SF discount, they are really a phenomenal value.

Any plans on stocking coats with full lining in AW14? The navy hopsack polo coat with quarter-lining is warm, but I find that the wind cuts through when it's below -10 C / 14 F. It's nothing that a thin sweater won't remedy, but full lining would be better. (I didn't size up, so a single-ply sweater is all I can layer underneath.)

You sure Jet? they're pretty warm. The first day I wore them it was about 50 and they wore way too warm.
