It's one of Pray's spring qualities that I started running year-round in exclusive color ways. I think it is totally wearable in LA winters.

i assume the quilted lining will make the riders fit slimmer but warmer?

@conceptual 4est Sherpa lining is not actual wool fleece/shearling, right? What's it made of?

Edit: NVM. I see it's 100% poly in the description. I suppose actual fleece would be serious additional $$

here are some pics with some ambient lighting and a side shot of the current season nailhead flannel fabric, which is definitely a SC weight, in case this helps.

I'd add that this swatch and MCH6C/980 are the lightest fabrics here and IMO both appropriate for warmer regions

It's faux mouton, like the Valstar coats we have this season. Real sheepskin would run closer to to $2k...

Thanks, guys! The 980 looks great as well. As does the Japanese Twill, and the olive waxed canvas...

Yup. That said the quilted lining is not very thick at all, so I wouldn't expect a significant fit difference. Slightly slimmer but not much.

Excited to take the plunge on a James Grose jacket. Just to verify, Kyle, you like the fit of the 36 on you in the Manila? Arm length OK? We're pretty much the same size.

I could use some army green tech, brown horse and snuff suede in my life. :)

Having seen the jackets in person over the weekend, I think that they are a good jacket at a nice value. For my tastes, it would be nice if they and some full grain suede, or perhaps heavier horsehide, but there are other options for that. That silhouettes are nice, though.
