Ears hurt after I wake up

I have noticed this happening to me alot. I go to sleep fine (no ear plugs, or anything). And when I wake up, my ears hurt alot. Any ideas for what it might be, treatments etc. Thanks

Have you ever heard of going to the doctor? SF isn't your personal healthcare specialist. If your ears are hurting, that's not normal. Go see a doctor. I'm just waiting for a new thread, "Severed Limb: Suggestions?" "I just severed my right arm while trying to cut down a tree in my front yard. It is bleeding profusely and I'm starting to feel numb and cold. Any ideas for treatment?"

Look, I warned you about gallivanting with the locals during that weekend trip to Morocco. If you chose to ignore it, that's your fault.

Lets see maybe I wanted to see if it was something serious since I am at college and wont be going home until friday. I wanted to see if maybe I can hold it off until then or go straight to the hospital since there is no doctors office here since the hospital is down the street. Thanks for your help asshole.

These types of questions get asked here all the time; it's time members stopped doing it because it's just stupid and dangerous. Do you think that doctors would recommend asking strange men on a CLOTHING forum about health-related issues that could be serious? Doubtful. What if we told you, 'It's nothing to worry about at all," you do nothing, and then it turns out to be something critical and you go deaf in two months? There is NO way to tell one way or the other from what you told us. Your university/college no doubt has a health clinic or some type of health office, even if not a full hospital. Go there and let them check you out; consistent ear pain obviously isn't normal. Don't take chances and don't trust the self-appointed experts in EVERYTHING on SF, who rarely... if ever... actually know what they're talking about (myself included)

I think the OP was hoping someone would say it's happened to them before and is a minor thing - just get some eardrops and you'll be good to go. Nothing wrong with that, if I were him I would do the same thing, even if I was planning on going to the doctor. It's always good to get other opinions and doctors (while normally spot on) can make errors. I would prefer going into a doctors office prepared - already having done research on the issue on the internet.

I have a freind who suffered a bad fall and his back was all fucked up. The doctor said they would have to perform surgery & he would be in a wheelchair the rest of his life. He got a second opinion and they said "We can do surgery that will let you live a normal life." He's 100% now like nothing ever happened.

Also, in a different forum I asked a question about a dental problem and received great advice from a dentist - and it was free. You never know who's out there that can help.

With that said, no matter what anyone tells me on a forum if both my ears hurt I would still see a doc.

now that's scary. always ask for a second opinion. you never know how many out there are disabled in some fashion not due to their accident/condition, but because of the incompetency of the doctor/hospital they chose.

Pretty much I wanted to see if anyone has had the same problem. Wanted to see what they did with it. Like you said, people get different feedback and can benefit them differently. Its a forum section on Body Consciousness. I believe that this fits the section perfectly.

Well, your description of your problem absolutely sucks. "My ears hurt" .... ok... and??? No description of the type of pain, the intensity, duration, if it's inner ear, outer ear, when it started, etc... but hell, who needs any of that right? After all, we are all mind readers here. No, wait - according to you, we are all assholes, yet you still ask for help here. You could post this question on WebMD and still wind up getting laughed at.
