Just tell him it's a Ralph Lauren and skip the purple label part. Next day he will tell you he purchased a similar "Lauren" suit!

The bentley is a toy car, the "RLPL" suits are just thrifted Lauren RL that he's stapled purple fabric onto, and the doorman is his dad (he lives at home in a modest ranch house).

While it is obviously awfully big of you to consider the plight of the lower class and try to spare them from knowing they cannot afford nice things like you I think you could just break him the truth and try to be a good shoulder for him to cry on.

Wow, quick to throw out the salary. Yup, there is nothing like openly discussing your salary with strangers to instill legitimacy and respect. Besides PL you can afford a Rolex with no dusts.

I would think he would go bigger than that, that's not really that much money, and I am sure 10% to 25% of people posting here earn that! It certainly is not Bentley money, that's for sure..
