question for those of you who have seen it. who was the old guy they called her father? he wasn't a vampire. he drank milk. that's all we know about him. i wonder if he was a boy she seduced when he was twelve, and if oskar is his replacement. when he tells elia, "do me one favor. don't see that boy tonight." was he being jealous? thoughts?

yes, i think that was the point of her becoming his "girlfriend" after her "dad" dies. we're led to believe she seduces 12-year-olds who do not know any better.

I haven't read the book that it's based upon but I've heard that it makes it clear that he is a pedophile who is looking after her. The movie doesn't deal with this explicitly, but I think the "do me one favor, don't see that boy tonight" was a hint at that (with him being jealous). If she's looking to be safe it would make more sense to seduce pedophiles to look after her then young boys.

i think that the old man met her when was a kid, just like how the movie ended. kid falls in love, follows around vampire and murks kids for her, and the girl doesnt age so the kid starts to look like her grandpa.

yeah, apparently this is the case in the book, and "hinted at" in the movie.
