"Hedda Gabler" opens to horrendous reviews

This is sort of disappointing, mainly because I admire greatly the two stars of this revival, Mary-Louise Parker and Michael Cerveris. Ben Brantley said this: "That the director Ian Rickson is responsible for one of the worst revivals I have ever, ever seen has me flummoxed." (http://theater2.nytimes.com/2009/01/...ml?ref=theater) Ben Brantley has seen like every play on Broadway for decades. Wow.

Great play. Too bad.

Saw it in London in the late 70s with Timothy West and Glenda Jackson. Wow!
