Is anyone else watching these guys? Can anyone think of a more beautiful team from the past twenty years?

Also, what planet is Messi from?

Barca in 2005-2006 was pretty amazing as well.

But yeah, Pep has done an amazing job. Rijkaard too, but he lost the dressing room to the egos.

They've been a thrill to watch this year. Xavi is reveling in the space he's got now that Deco is gone. And Messi, oh Messi.

i love the 'idea' of barcelona, but barely have time to see the occasional asr match. i like guardio;a - he had a brief spell 5 years ago w/ the giallorossi, but failed to make much of an impression as a player. glad to see he's off to the races...

Yeah, Guardiola did not enjoy his football in Italy.

You really ought to see a match, or at least some Youtube highlights from this season. Have a DVR? Do you get GolTV?

Not sure what a DVR is, but pretty sure I don't have one (I have a dvd palyer) - also, no cable....

DVR = Digital Video Recorder. There's always pirated streaming video on the internet.

This guy is posting hi-def videos of every one of Messi's touches in non-CL games from now on. For posterity, I guess. It doesn't quite show you how good they are as a team, but you can see flashes of it.

I've been trying to think of a way to describe Messi, and the best I can come up with is that he's playing a different game than everyone else. Torres is a great finisher, and C. Ronaldo has flashes of brilliance, but every time Messi touches the ball, anywhere on the field, you expect him to score.

the close control of messi is just out of this world. his 2nd goal this weekend was just sublime. he's really from a different planet.

Yes. And it's not just his skill. His invention, creativity, and intelligence put him miles ahead of Ronaldo.

i'm surprised this thread wasn't started sooner. i've been telling people for weeks that barcelona are playing like the harlem globetrotters. i've only been able to catch a couple of games, including vs. real madrid, because i don't have a t.v. either. everytime i check the scores they're winning 4-0 , 5-0, etc.

and messi has been the best player in the world for a couple of years. you can look for some discussions i had with rdawson about this a couple of years ago.

More like Brazil in the 1970 World Cup. They pretty much do what they want with the ball most of the time, if that's what you mean by the Globetrotters reference.
