Who makes the best sounding supercar?

Post a video to support your claim. My vote goes for the Z06/Zr1. I've yet to hear a better sounding engine than a pushrod-V8, and for the price, the Zr1 dominates Ferrari and Lamborghini in terms of performance. For your listening pleasure...

I do love the sound of a big throaty V8 on full race so the Zr1 even with the supercharger is way up the list.

That said, all Ferraris sound like hot sex. no question in my book. Gimme a 599

I'm sure there are better. Haven't heard them yet.

The GT's exhaust sound is somewhat mild in stock form, but after a slight modification, it is completely insane.....bordering on scarey.

I like the sound of a huge 427 and I like the sound of a high string flat 6. Oh hell I like turbo whirl and blow off valves as well.

Straight cut gears and ITBs also add to the sound of a car.

Yea...as the saying goes..."there's no replacement for displacement".

Years ago, I used to work next door to a taxi co. The owner would occasionally work on his personal car in the garage. This happened to be a blown 426 Hemi Cuda...insanely tuned, high compression, high stall...the works (pretty sure it was a 1/4 mile car).

One day he was working on the engine and hit the acc pretty hard...the sound sent one of the Ethiopian cab drivers fleeing out of the garage in terror. If the exhaust sound can activate your fight or flight mechanism, you know it's good. he he

They also had the return of the Can-Am cars at Mosport last summer. Listen to those monsters, and you will never be quite as impressed by a Ferrari, let alone a Honda with a coffee can noise maker attached to the exhaust.

On a more realistic note, I've always loved the sound of vintage British cars...a friend has a Healey that sounds quite nice, and I always loved the sound of a TR6.

Personally I've always been a fan of the Honda NSX's engine sound. Here's the 2011 almost-in-production which sounds delicious: http://kr.youtube.com/watch?v=XpMAfsSk7jM

I've always been a fan of V-12's, rather than the skewed rumble of an eight, but as a rather austere fellow I find I prefer the restrained rumble of an Aston 12 to the shrieking on one of the Italian stallions. I hear the Alfa 8C sounds incredible, but it's only hearsay to me. Back on V-8s, there is something to be said for the maniacal scream of a GM671 sitting on a big displacement Chevy mill. ~ H

I'm not sure that a corvette really classes as a 'supercar' in my book. I have to say the Aston Martin DBS does sound fantastic and much better than the new breed of Ferraris

Are you familiar with the 09 zr1? It is the epitome of the supercar.
