Is the SW California Winter Jacket warm enough for 20-30 degree weather with some layering? Looks a little too cropped at the waist from the pics, can anyone comment on where it hits?

does anyone know if the measurements on the down shirt jacket on the website are accurate (it says chest size of 42 for the XL, which seems like it would mean that it runs small rather than large, which is what i would have guessed.)?

also, do the SW sizes differ from the regular CDW pieces that you would buy direct? Just received a parka that I found on ebay, and it's an XL and gigantic. i am going to keep it, as i got it to be a serious outdoor piece for the vermont winters, and it will function as that, but it's huge.

want to pick up the down shirt too, just not sure if it will fit (as 42 would be a bit tight).

appreciate the help!

anyone have help on the sizing of the down shirt? i emailed south willard, and ryan responded that the XL has a pit to pit of 21" - that just doesn't seem right to me based on the stuff that I have read in this thread about the sizing. (that it fits slim, but not incredibly so, the measurements that robin posted for the medium with a pit to pit of 22", etc)

seems weird to me. i really want to buy the olive one, and may end up doing so and returning if it doesn't fit.

also, when i emailed SW i got an answer back that wasn't right the first time (it has a pit to pit of 24" and is therefore a 42 was the answer).

at any rate, any forum help would be greatly appreciated.

crescent down works have been popping up on ebay, looks like direct from factory (as seller name is down works, located in seattle) and some are being sold as brand new while others are factory seconds, mostly vests tho.

it doesn't look to me like TBS stocks that jacket at all. that appears to be the down sweater, the one on TBS appears to be the down parka.
