Paul Stuart Sales - Page 9

I also wanted to put in a request for a favour - if anyone is heading to the sale, I'd love to pick up the 5 ties for $60 deal, if there are at least 2 or more decent silk ties left (and I'll take the rest in other fabrics). I wholeheartedly trust your judgments... I'll gladly pay for the cost + shipping + sandwich/roundtrip subway/goodwill, as well as a favour owed whenever I'm in NY/Seoul/Beijing/Jakarta. I've bought many things from SF members responsibly. Regards, Seok
I went back at the end of the day today and the ties were pretty well picked over.  There were only one or two kinds out of four or five total kinds that were worthwhile, in my opinion. dan

Yes, I would be happy to buy stuff for forum members in or around Hong Kong (I live in Hong Kong but travel a lot).  One idea may be for me to follow up on your orders with Jantzen (or check a sample shirt fabric for you).
Ed, I'll try to stop by at lunch today and see if they have the spectators in a 9D.  Is that all you're interested in? dan

So I did the tally, $1750 for what was retail $6150 for an average 71.5% off. Got charged $400 each for a $1987 and $1244 SC suit.

I spoke with the salespersons yesterday and they said that they do expect to replenish the racks (with different styles as well). I asked specifically on odd pants in small sizes. B

$500 for Isaia and St. Andrews?    My wallet thanks Paul Stuart for being located in NYC and not DC.
Those are Italian made Stuart Choice, I recognize their labels they're from Isaia and SA with unfinished sleeves.  Every suits $1500 or above are now $500.
Is there a way for us novices to tell the difference between the SA and the Isaia suits? How much was the difference in retail prices for these two? -Thanks

Dah, If they have a second pair of those specs in a 9D, can you kindly pick me up a pair as well. I can settle with you next week when I am back in NYC. Thanks.

Question for Chris (nightowl6261a): My understanding was that a substantial part of the last sale of Grenson's shoes at Bennies included stock from Paul Stuart. Since the Paul Stuart overstocks have just been sold, will you be getting fewer shoes, fewer styles, or perhaps no shoes at all from Grenson to sell this Summer? BTW, I hate all of you who live in NYC, especially those of you posting shoe pictures from the Paul Stuart sale.

Thanks very much for the offer. I would quite like some ties as well if it's not too much problem. Preferably the colorful cashmere ones, and preferably plain colors (or no more than two colors), just like the ones Zjpj83 bought. I'll leave the ultimate decision to you. 5 ties is fine. Thanks again.

Ed, Bry, I'll see what they have left. dan

I would guess that Chris's Grensons of the Stuart's Choice variety came from Grenson stock that was not delivered to Paul Stuart and that this week's PS sale has no impact on the Grenson inventory. Chris would know better than me, though. dan

Any chance an enterprising SF member would be willing to head over on the final day of the sale to see if they can scoop up some deals for those of us (like me) who are unfortunately out of the area? If they knocked the Stuart's Choice down to $100 I would have maybe even taken two. It's hurting that I won't be able to make it on Friday afternoon.

For those who have gone on Wednesday: are there still lines? Always worth another lunchtime exploration, but not if it entails a 30 minute wait to enter.

Updates on whether they put out more shoes, suits, etc. are welcome (particularly 10.5 and 40R). Also, if they have non-pastel color over the calf socks left, I'd gladly buy a bunch from anyone who picks some up for me. Thanks.

There was a PS sale at Parsons about 2 years ago. I thought it was awful back then.

How responsible do you think the StyleForum was to the success of the Paul Stuart sale? I mean both that SF members were a significant portion of the purchasers, and also that the Forum provided an incredible word of mouth promotion (who knows how many lurkers there are here).
