(johnnynorman3 @ April 12 2005,08:18) Are those the ties you bought today?
Yeah, I got the ties today. I posted pics of my new linen spectators in the spectator thread. Â Here are some other nice examples.
Nice--very nice. And to, think, you got all 5 for scarcely more than the retail price of 1 pair of E. Greens.

Damn Zack,
All those shoes? I could have easily spent 3k... but for lack of gainful employment, I snagged 2 of the very short supply 4-season 36S suits, 1 Stuart Choice brown captoe, and a 1 regular line Chukka boot for next winter. Where did you find those wholecuts? I asked for them specifically? We must have got there around the same time (I was the 2nd person out the door when it opened). Back to class...

NCT
Did you get the winter-weight brownish one with the ticket pocket? I almost got that suit, it was really nice.

The shoes were right out on top. However, I noticed the 7 1/2 Ds (don't know if that's your size) weren't really out on the table for some reason - they were underneath a table opposite where they should have been.

Nope, I need basics. I bought a half-canvassed navy suit with a really fine weave... mediocre quality and definitely a notch below the standards on this board, but for $300 for something that fits, I can't complain. The other was a full-canvassed Samuelsohn, 2-B SB, single-vent (my odd personal preference), 4-season 120s gray pinstripe.

EDIT: Go now, be fast. They probably around 50-100 per half size. Think of the PS sale before Christmas, knock $50 off the price, and maintain the same selection/broken sizes. The shoes and ties are the best bargains, and the suitings are decent values if you are a hard to fit size. They even offered semi-longs.

I would think it's still worth going for shoes. There were lots there.

Absolutely worth it. I just bought 4 pair in 10D, but there was great selection in 10.5D as well. Wow.

sashae, I love the first ones. I really would have liked those, but they only had them in sort of a greenish-brown in my size. Good haul.

I think I'm going to head back on the last day to see if I can pick up a few other things at super discount -- I was very, VERY tempted by the black/white specs, but at $180 I felt I should get things that I'll be able to wear more broadly.

Wow.... It is depressing thinking about how great this sale sounds, especially for huge Paul Stuart fans like me.

By the way, I don't think it's accurate to call the "regular" line of PS suits "Samuelson suits." From what I understand, Paul Stuart provides the fabric and the design specs to Samuelson. The only thing Samuelsohn does is cut and sew the suits together. Thus, these are not simply "re-badged" Samuelsohn suits and jackets.

Nice. I tried on those side-lace things, which I thought I would really like, but they fit kind of narrowly on me.

I'm so glad that Style Forum has sent so many people to this sale who appreciate the stuff there.
