Kovacs lighting

Is anyone familiar with Kovacs lamps as far as quality and design?

It seems like a decent entry-level line of modern lamps. There are definitely some knock-offs (e.g. a $750ish knock-off of the Castiglione arc lamp), but most look ok.

Anyone have experience with this line?

Yah, I just bought 3 lamps, one of which I'm returning because it is not bright enough for my great room. glad the place I bought it has a good return policy. Did research and everyone said the lamp was bright, but it wasn't.

Quality seems pretty decent, but you should search online for the cheapest price and best return policy, unless you're buying at brick and mortar. Room and Board has some Kovacs lighting at fair prices, lamps plus is a good place to check.

The two most annoying things are (1) although simple to assemble in concept, it has taken me about 1.5 hours to put the damn lamps together to make sure things line up properly, screwing things in, etc. and (2) the cheap ass styrofoam packing material is so thin and loose it gets EVERYWHERE. Clean up sucks.
