A quick Q on Chlamydia

I think there are a couple of doctors or people who might know here:

So a recent partner called with a positive chlamydia test. We were kinda careful - always condoms for vaginal, not so much for oral.

I'm going in to the doc's tomorrow - are they going to make me test and wait, or will they most likely just give me the course of antibiotics right away?

Just pray that they're not going to swab your urethra for a sample.

Can't you get all STD testing done nowadays via bloodwork? Or do they still swab the urethra for most? **Shuddering at the thought**

There's a urine test for the clap. Some clinics still prefer the swab, but I won't be getting it done at one of those.

All in all I'd prefer a batch of pills and the assumption I'm infected.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you can get the urine test for Gonnorrhea as well. Fuck that swab.

The swab ain't all that. Or maybe I'm lucky enough to have proportions so that it didn't seem like all that.

1g stat dose (single dose) of oral azithromycin. profit. literally a single tablet and you can pretty much count yourself as safe.

mid stream urine. not as accurate as a swab, but quite effective. easier to simply treat for intimate contacts.

All STDs can be tested by either blood work or urine. Or if you have a good doctor he can assume you have it and give you medication
