Would you wear a suit and tie if you didn't have to?

I work from home now and have no need to wear a jacket and tie. I pretty much sit in front of the computer and could stay in my underwear all day if I wanted to. What's sad is I miss wearing a good portion of my wardrobe. I even purchased a new suit, sport coat, and trousers just last week because they were such great deals (thank you SAKS!). I love tailored clothing, but don't really have a need to dress up anymore.
Is there anyone else in the same boat who is having a similar issue?

I wear a suit and tie every weekday to work and also to a nice restaurant on Saturday night. However, I almost never HAVE TO. I only go to Court about one workday in 10. Not a single restaurant in Atlanta requires a tie (and only one in NYC-the "21 Club" and then only at dinner).
I dress the way I like to dress; current fashion be damned.

i didn't have to at my old job, but i always did. actually a number of coworkers started doing the same thing. and i was recently laid off, but i still do. i just have an easier time being productive then if i'm wearing a t-shirt and jeans.

I don't have to (I also work from home), and I don't.

That said, I'm thinking about getting a couple of suits for dinners out, the opera, the occasional wedding...

Just to echo everybody, I don't have to but I try. I don't do ties though.

I really can't.

I get snarky comments and looks even when I wear a sport coat/blazer. If I were to wear a full on suit/tie everyday, I wouldn't hear the end of it.

I'll occasionally wear a tie with a sweater or suit with no tie, but never the whole thing on a day to day basis.

I don't have to wear coat and tie to work, but I always do. I am sure my co-workers regarded it as very eccentric. Not even the president of the company wears coat and tie.
