For me activity seems to be secondary to intake control -- you may find otherwise.

swimming is probably the best complete excersizes there is. You're getting a great upper body and cardio workout at the same time. Swimming will also help gain lean slow twitch muscle.

Swimming is so dependent on technique though. In order to be able to swim well enough to get a good workout, you have to have pretty good technique - which might or might not require lessons. I remember a few years ago I went to our neighborhood pool to do some lap swimming. I was in great shape (running/biking/lifting), but was huffing and puffing after 2 lengths of the pool (due to my flailing around). Meanwhile, an elderly woman with great form effortlessly did lap after lap. I couldn't keep up with her in the pool and I'm sure she couldn't keep up with me on land. If you have great technique, swimming is a great way to get cardio, though.

Yeah I'd have to definitely agree with that.

well, mostly exercising is not going to be enough for losing weight. You need to combine with your diet.

How you eat, what you eat is also important by just doing exercie. If you want to lose weight, a healthy diet like lots of fibre intake helps before your main meals. foods like banana, veggies will help you create a sense of fullness with your stomach so you will eat lesser.

But you still need a lot of protein, foods like skimmed fat milk, low fat cheese will help you give you lots of protein.

. hopes that helps

frankly I jog around 3 kms a day early morning and it makes me feel quite better than any exercise I have made and u can also try some cycling in the evenings that will help quite a lot to loose weight and stay fit.

I recently started jogging on a daily basis,2 times in a day, first in the morning on the treadmill for 20 mins(jogging),and then later in the afternoon for an hour, but thats just brisk walk, maybe 5 mins of jogging in it...Anyway The question which i wanna ask is, is this routine ok? Or shud i add some other exercizes as well?

Jogging is fine for weight loss/fat reduction. Even walking will do the trick if you do enough of it. If you have the time and motivation for it I would also recommend strength training 1-2 times per week. The reason for this is that strength training will increase muscle mass and thus your overall metabolism. You will not lose weight by doing strength training (you might actually gain weight, as muscles are higher in mass than fat), but it will help you in the long run. Running is harsh on the joints and muscles, so strength training can also help you prevent injuries down the road.

^^ You will lose weight by doing anything that causes your caloric expenditure to be greater than your intake, period. Doing weights burns calories, but of course less than sprinting or running. for the same time period.
