No one seems to have liked the denim jacket yet. I think a jeans jacket is supposed to be cut 'short' if that's what is turning everyone off, I don't know. Things like AmAppy salamander length tee's are ******* with our heads. A denim jacket didn't run below the belt in the 80's, I don't think, is what I'm saying.

Should get my package Thursday.

Hahaha that's funny because it's true. I've had a chambray shirt in my rotation for about 6 months now, and never have I seen someone else wearing one.

I see them once in a blue moon. It seems like everyone and their sister is making them, but nobody seems to be wearing them so it's all good

And they are not online?

Are they different than last season's rigid skinny selvage?

The only person I've seen is my janitor, he was fixing something and saw him wiping his dirty hands on them.

it does fit slim-ish, color is a little off of what it seems like on the website, but better than the color of the old one (not as faded/washed out).
hem is cut high... with my arms at my side the bottom of the gusset hit a little less than an inch below my belt ( so not tuckable...)

I must get my eye checked, from the website pics, thought they were gray chambrays.

aaaall right so I got in my selvage authentic fit jeans and my straight fit dark wash jeans. Here's my evaluation.
They messed with the fit of the selvage authentics. I laid the authentic selvage and straight normal jeans over each other and they have reduced the slight boot cut of the authentics. The knee of the authentic is still barely wider than on the straight, but the openings on both are ~8.5 inches. The authentics actually look like more of a straight now. This is especially accented because I have bigger thighs (soccer, lifting, etc) and so having a wider knee and more tapered opening makes it all line up better than on the straights. The straight's narrower knee makes it seem like more of a boot cut look on me... So its kind of a reversal of roles in the silhouette.
A big downer: both waistbands are loose on me at a size 30 when I usually wear a 31 in everything else. However I cant size down or my upper legs wont fit right.
The selvage authentics have a button fly which wasnt mentioned online. Im a big fan of that. The side belt loops are attached at an angle. Don't know how I feel about that. There is also a bit of decorative stitch on the side right at the hip. Instead of the normal straight down then over across the seam, its a very narrow V shape. The inseam is also longer than specified by an inch (when compared to the prewashed pair). I guess this is to accommodate people cuffing the jeans but for me its just f'ing annoying cuz now theyre longer than I wanted. Denim is fairly rigid however pretty thin. Definitely thinner than my gough's. Back pockets have hidden rivets. All rivets say 1969 on the inside. Maybe its just me but the new gap main pant button looks cheap and plain. I just bought some nudie avg joes but I may keep these selvage ones too and just hot soak the waist band to make it fit tighter, then just keep the belt on so it doesnt stretch back out.

Long write up. Hope this helps some people.

I thought the same thing, it looks a lot more grey-blue on the website, but in life its more a mid blue. Still alot better than the super-faded one they used to sell

Maybe it fits people differently, but I thought the biggest difference was the Straight's rise was way too low, almost uncomfortably low. The Authentic was more comfortable in that area.

Well Im pretty short so i fit best in a fairly low rise. As mentioned in one of my earlier posts, the authentic has almost an inch of a higher rise in the front. I also forgot to mention, the button fly buttons are some sort of donut button variation.

So, went in again today. An SA told me that he THINKS they won't be doing 34 inseams in canada in a lot of the new denim, can any gap employees confirm this? He did a merch check and nothing came up.
