New gap denim - Page 32

Does this stuff bleed? Please excuse my ignorance as the only pairs of jeans I own are CK, which are looked down upon by SF but work rather well for me fit-wise.

I also got one those 3 for 1 free card. Was going to give it away. Does this mean I can pick up a cheaper pair of jeans, and get the selvage pair(more expensive) for free?

I don't know the details of the deal, but that situation in general is NEVER the case.

equal or of lesser value probably.

The card does not specify "equal or lesser value." I pointed this out, and the sales clerk just shrugged and said "you're right. I'll give you the expensive one for free."

I can't speak to THOSE exact jeans but by and large, a rinse isn't going to fade nearly as much as a true raw/one wash, but unwashed and worn hard most dark denim is going to develop fade lines. It can't hurt to try. Starch will help.

And yeah, the card doesn't specify equal or lesser value. If a store gave you a hard time, which they really shouldn't (not being an ass to them always helps) you can always buy the cheap pair, get your 3rd stamp, walk over and pick up a selvedge pair and present your card for one free pair of jeans.

Also a flash sale started today, buy one shirt/sweater get one free. That includes sale and regular price. any shirt, any sweater in the store. That sale IS of course equal or lesser value.

Yup, just got home and checked. No specification on the value of the 2 jeans. Thats pretty sweet.

Got me to a Gap store today (“flagship” one) to check out the selvage authentic’s. I need another pair of raw/rigid denim like I need a yada-yada, but I came out carrying the rigid selvage bucleback’s. Pretty sweet deal at $58 if you can get over the touch of whimsy, selvage line on the middle back belt loop and the top edges of the backpockets. Hidden rivets, however. The design, surprisingly, actually grew on me in the five minutes I was trying them on. I know I have enough plain-pocket selvage pairs, f’sure.

The denim used on the buckleback has a heavier feel (relatively) to it than the plain-design rigid authentic’s for some reason. It feels like the APC denim without the extra-heavy starching. The stitching quality is no worse than the Crate’s I had before. The cut itself…fits like a sized-down-one Average Joe with a slightly lower rise. I don’t know when I’d find time to use them, but I’m an addict at this point. BTW I’m a sz 31-31.5”, and the 30 fits me fine.

I saw a really nice Gap shirt, I think with one pocket, in a magazine this weekend. It was a pullover half placket design... I can't remember what mag i saw it in, but it was only £39, which is a bargain, not unlike the kind of thing that woulld cost £99 from LVC. Anyone seen it, or know where it's stocked in the UK?

i bought a straight-fit dark rinse for $34.50 ($20 off) and while it's clearly not APC territory, for workhorse jeans it's a steal. Good fit, too.
