I just picked up the Gap Skinny Raws (sz 30x30) for 50% off (Columbus Day Sale). Total was about $45.

I love the fit. Go check out your local GAP and see if they have it 50% off!

Here's a pic. Should I hem?

^ There was a washed selvage denim and the raw selvage denim (pair I got) at my GAP.

Maybe my GAP was clearing out old stock.

where you at? I've been looking for a pair of 32x30 or 33x30 badly.

I've had a pair for about a year. Have worn them regularly. Soaked a few times. Even washed in a machine. And they are still as dark as the day I bought them.

What's your secret?

This. They're clearing out the old raws for the o/w models with the annoying back-pocket fold/stitch. Glad I bought my skinnies a year ago - they've gotten minimal wear, inasmuch as I just use them for a "dress" denim.

In other news - a friend of mine has a pair of standards in the raw selvedge that he's worn hard for about a year (gave him my standards when I bought the skinnies) and they've faded remarkably for the usual rep that Gap denim gets. They look really good - I'll see if I can snag a picture without sounding ghey.

From the reviews I've seen on Gap and a little reading here it seems that Gap no longer sells the Gap Skinny Raw Selvage.  Instead they are one-wash jeans now? A lot of poorer reviews than before so I guess I shouldn't purchase these. oh well

There are a very limited supply of the better made selvages left. I went to snag a pair this weekend and found that they had thrown a completely new stock on denim onto the shelves. They even had new names and it was a big confusing mess. They have Original, Straight, and Skinny selvage denim all in a one wash. Original and Straight fit very well but I couldnt tell if they were untreated and if theyd fade well. The skinny's back rise was a little low.

I managed to find an old pair of the skinny selvages on the wall. They were true raw and not a one wash as the new jeans are. They also had hidden riveted back pockets. I sized down 2 from a 31 to a 29. They were about as tight as a pair of STFs after a scalding hot soak...I forgot how damn tight those were (Ive got big legs). Anyway I'm starting the breakin process.

Do any of you know if these are sanforized? I was thinking about jumping into a lukewarm shower with these to really set some creases and stretch out some of the overly tight areas. I dont want these to shrink and be EVEN TIGHTER than they are now.

GAP wouldn't be caught dead selling shrink-to-fit denim. The general (overweight) public would cause a complete fiasco about returning jeans that were too small after washing.

I picked up a pair of Gap skinny selvage today for 40% off, I like the fit a lot. Don't really care about fades.
one rinse or raw?

Yeah the fit is very similar to RRL Slim fit.
Not sure to be honest, probably the one rinse

For Gap,

Does Rigid= Raw?

They have a new lisiting: http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?searchCID=25781&vid=1&pid=889083&scid=889083002

Which they describe as rigid. But clearly the picture is of the resin rinse that people have been bitching about here:

http://www.gap.com/browse/search.do?searchText=selvage&submit.x=0&submit.y=0

Curious if they brought back the old Raw jeans.
