Labrador Retrievers, the ultimate accessory to any fit.

The scary thing is, I wouldn't be at all surprised if that were true... biggrin.gif

Perhaps incongruous materials (tie might be wool(?) and the suit seems very summery), but the colours are so good together, it works. If the tie's cotton, that would be perfect (impossible to be sure from the pic, I think).

What other outfits would work with that tie? I'm struggling to think of (m)any...

Really? I would say that a lot of colors can work with it... french navy cotton (if the tie is cotton), green tweed if it's wool... just keep the suit and shirt solid.

Mr. Akamine is one of those rare Asians with golden undertones to his skin and high contrast eyes and hair (an Autumn by Carole Jackson's system), and so the only color in that outfit that "brings him forth" is the brown in his tie.

The others are either too light and not golden enough (jacket and beige in tie), or too cool (shirt, grey in tie, pocket square).

Overall he's always worn a very "clean" look. With that picture I'm looking at the the clean outfit first, and then him, separately.

In the bigger Sartorialist photo the lapel buttonhole is beautiful.

Hmm, personally it feels too vivid for both navies and green; I reckon it might contrast very heavily against both without simultaneously being the sole item of interest as it is against the beige suit.

Maybe someone will get bored enough to photoshop something quickly for us, to give an idea of how those colours would work with the tie.

lasbar: do you think it works well with the suit, though? I don't like the tie at all in itself, but like it a lot in the context of the outfit.

I would also add that the tie itself is very high contrast which works with his eyes/skin color and the dark areas in it bring out the hair and eyes.

PS: love that tie

+1. I don't find it to be appealing at all.
