Shoes damage, help....

My dear new Gravati shoes (a few weeks in my possesion) have a problem. The welt extension (I hope that's what you call it, the rather thick layer between the insole and the outsole) of the left shoe has its leather chipped in rather significantly. Not sure what caused it, I just realised it two days after the last time I wore it. I'll bring it to a shoe repair shop tomorrow, but any idea what could be done, and what not should be done, to fix it? I think the shoes have double leather sole, or a rather thick single sole. Sorry I don't have a digital camera.

Fortunately, Gravati shoes are made on the Blake construction, so the extension is really no more than a rim. Should be easy for a GOOD repair man to fix. I sell Gravati and repair them as well. If you feel unsure about your repair guy, send me a note from my profile and I will give you my address.
