Not that I'm doubting you Ernest. I have very little doubt of your authenticity. BUT how do I REALLY know? It's quite possible that everyone who has "met" you are actually people who are either "in" on the joke, or you yourself posting under another name. I don't know any of them either.
In fact, you met Dave and i spend 70 hours with his girlfriend... I am unemployed and live with my parents but i am a multi millioner so i do not need to work and can help my family.
Ah, but you could BE Dave...
HAHAHAHA: Oh, man Tokyo, you are so lucky I was not drinking something, or you would have had to pay for a new monitor. Jon.

Half the fun of being online is that you can be anything you want.
I agree but trying to prove that people are lying when they don't seem to be really aware of what they are talking = a pleasure Exemple = a guy who claims to make not realistic things like making millions while he spends half of his life on a forum talking about clothes and wears a $200 watch.
Ernest, have you never read a newspaper or seen television? First of all, millionaires generally can't dress themselves. The fact that they own cheaply made (if not just downright inexpensive) stuff is HIGHLY feasible. I have run into Bill Gates on a few occasions, and let me tell you - he is NOT concerned with his dress. I'm talking dirty grey sweats here. I've seen him wear dockers slacks and a $20 wrinkled shirt. He is the worlds wealthiest man (by far) and he also has plenty of free time on his hands should he so desire it. I believe he maintains quite a few hobbies to busy himself, one of which is browsing numerous forums and blogs. This I have heard from the man himself.
Hmm, so Bill Gates is a nerd...who would have thunk it? Jon. (you should have told him about SF, that way he could learn how to dress better AND look at a forum all at the same time)

Ah, but then I wouldn't be able to mock his sartorial failings without having to sleep with one eye open. I'm well within the range of his Ninja army...

Of course rich people can wear a shoddy watch or poor clothes. But they will not post on a forum talking about clothes and couldn't talk about anything. It would be as if you were on a forum dealing with how too cook meats and were at 75% vegetarian. Would you spend your time on such a forum if you eat a hamburger once for a while (like people who wear clothes but do not care about it)?

No because i can speak fluent French at any moment you want (so i have not a friend speaking for me) and Dave doesn't speak French. Do you mean Dave doesn't exist? I met her girlfriend but not him. So may be it is the same person?

Ernest, I know you and Dave aren't the same person. (I think.) I'm just trying to show you how easy it is for someone to be accused of being a fake, and how hard it is for you to prove you are not. Just so we are clear on that. I wouldn't want you to get irritated by this line of questioning. So. *** In the 1/2 hour or so that I met Dave for, I did not hear him speak french, but that doesn't mean that he doesnt. Your point proves nothing. He could very well speak french, and quite possibly still be you. Even if I went up to him on the street and demanded to know if he spoke French, all he'd have to do is say "no". I might catch him eventually, but he could always say that since I asked him about it he has been taking lessons. I don't speak french, so I wouldnt know the difference between good french and bad french if I just casually overheard it. I did not mean that Dave does not exist, I meant that you ARE Dave. Either you made Dave up, or Dave made you up. Maybe YOU don't exist. Maybe NIETHER of you really exist, and you are somebody else completely. Maybe 'Dave' was the pseudonym you made up specifically to meet J and I. And Ernest is the name you made up to meet someone else in France. You could be a billionaire tycoon with a private jet laughing at all of us poor bastards. In fact, now that I think about it, 'Dave' could have been some actor or something you paid to dress up and meet us. You were probably sitting across the room at the bar doing a crossword puzzle, sipping a Heineken or something. I would like to see you prove that you aren't in fact Lakshmi Mittal.

To one degree or another, we are all Mittal. Slim, we need to talk. I really don't appreciate your posting my picture on here. Now I have all these foolios PMing me for b-ball tips. Speaking of Dave, has anyone seen him around the forum lately? He says he has the new server up and ready to go, so we may be doing that next week.

Ok... that was an April Fools joke. J isn't really Julius Erving. Nor is he a doctor. And he can't play basketball. Not that I know of anyways. He CAN however roll a 200 while bowling on occasion, as evidenced by our last outing where he embarrased me the first game 200 to 155. Bastard.

I'm not paranoid, I'm cynical. Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference.
