Wallet vs. Card Case issue (X-posted from Men's Clothing)

Thought I'd ask a bunch of guys who regularly wear jeans their thoughts (keeping in mind I often dress jeans up a bit): Right now, I'm trying to decide whether to continue with a card case, or go back to a wallet. Let me preface this by saying I always carry in my front pants pocket except for rare occasions when I'll cary in a jacket pocket. Right now, I use this: http://www.saksfifthavenue.com/main/...93037&ev19=1:3 However, I recently saw and am contemplating switching to this (in black): http://www.saksfifthavenue.com/main/...27195&ev19=1:6 I like the size of the card case in my pocket, but I like the fact that the wallet allows each card its own pocket, and a dedicated currency pocket. It's about 1/3in taller, which is just enough to make a noticeable square shape in my jeans pocket. The difference in thickness is pretty much negligible. So, while I know the issue of wallet vs. card case before, I will a) reopen it, and, b) ask whether that more noticeable silhouette is something I'll likely find bothersome, or just get used to. Also, anyone whose had that particular Prada wallet (six-card, one bill pocket version) is welcome to comment, my card case in the same leather has been great, but who knows if the wallet is well made.

no prob. i have a tumi wallet about the same size as that one. i prefer wallets because you never know what you'll acquire during an evening (receipts, cards, phone numbers, etc.) and i'd rather have room for it just in case. plus i like being able to separate cards so they're not junking each other up when i slide them in and out. it doesn't really even show in my pocket unless i'm wearing raw denim where it has molded itself.

but....if you like both, why not have one of each?

i carried a card case, then tried a wallet and couldn't do it. i carry more than a couple cards so i settled on this.

it is technically a pocket organizer. no compartment to hold cash, but it can hold quite a few cards and is still slim enough not to be bothersome. i carry 2-3 credit/debit cards, my costco card (never know when i'll pop in), work ID and drivers license. I use the left pocket for receipts, etc.

I use a coach slim card case in my right back pocket and cash in the left.

Card case FTW. I have a 3 section card case. 1 section has Driver's License, Health Ins Card, Joint credit card (with wife), Other section has my credit card and metro card. Middle section for cash.

I use the credit card and metrocard 90% of the time. It's convenient and I can slip it out with one hand if necc. Why carry receipts and other junk around when you don't need it. I'm never going back to a traditional wallet again.

For what it's worth, I have the exact LV "Pocket Organizer" above and absolutely love it. I think it's the perfect light/slim wallet.

I couldn't agree more. FYI, it took me awhile to figure out the best place to store cash, but I now fold my bills in half and stuff them (vertically) under the right section. It works pretty perfectly for me.

Sorry for the off-topic of sorts.

I did the same with cash when I had the Pocket Orgainzer. It was too thick for me, so I traded it for the Damier Card Case, and I put 2 cards in the left slot, about 6 cards in the middle slot, and cash folded in half in the right slot. I purposely overfilled it at first, to stretch the right slot and make room for the cash to slip in easily.

Thing is, I just don't think it's enough smaller than the Prada wallet I looked at while still not having a real bill pocket. Very nice looking though.
