T-Mobile's Liverpool Station Ad

I don't usually pay much attention to television adverts, particularly as I don't own a television, but this one caught my eye via YouTube. I think it's cool to see how quickly innocent bystanders go from thinking "there are some weirdos dancing in the station" to "this is the most fun I've ever had while waiting for a train to Tooting." See, commuting in London has its perks!

That was cool. I have always wanted to break out a song and dance routine at Wal-Mart.

All of the people who were doing any real dancing were hired, so I don't really get it. Looks cool in person though.

Kind of an annoying rip-off of Improv Everywhere. The boss of IE is a friend of mine, and he wasn't involved in this at all.

Its just flashmobbing, those people were volunteers to the planned advert. Flashmobbing takes place about once a month in London - the usual block parties, congas, pillow fights, zombie marches, naked bikerides, train parties and tea dances followed by a pint at the nearest pub after. The best yet was this, one of the most favourited youtube vids of all time - in the heart of the West End:

the most infamous one, the Last Chance - drinking alcohol banned on The London Underground by the new mayor Boris Johnson - the last day before the ban was imposed May 31st 2008. Result: thousands of partgoers take over the network and mainline stations in probably the largest ever gathering of its kind:

The t-mobile ad wasn't flashmobbing. I actually thought it was a flashmob first myself too, but no. Those were hired dancers/performers specifically there to do a t-mobile ad, paid for by t-mobile.
