Where do you smoke cigars?

Where do you usually smoke cigars? Smoking inside your house sounds like a terrible treatment of your furniture. Also it's often illegal if you are renting. Smoking outside can be nice..but it often isn't, especially during winter. Do you have a smoking room? Or do you smoke in some kind of establishments that allows it (are there any even left?)

I smoke in my apartment in the winter almost nightly. An open window and a small fan while I am out of the apartment clears everything out. There are a few places left in the city that I frequent. There is nothing better than a long stroll in Manhattan when weather permits though.

I live in an apartment as well,

I once got out of the shower and decided that there is no way I am going out in the cold to smoke my cigar so put on a movie, closed the door and lit it.

10 minutes and 1/3 burned cigar later I hear a really persistent knocking. Ignoring it didn't really work, so I put on a bath robe and opened the door to a VERY pissed off little elderly lady and less pissed off but equally concerned manager...

I have no idea how she smelled the smoke since I was smoking in a closed room far from the apartment entrance door and my window was on the opposite side of the building from hers...

But she said that she called the cops the last time she smelled it and the guy got a max fine and was going to call the cops now but instead decided to track down the offender herself.

Needless to say, I found out that my building isn't exactly easy on these things.

What irritates me is that you can't really smoke on the balcony either...Sure in big buildings no one would really care..but it's a ridiculous rule to begin with.

^What'd your lease say about it? Unless you were breaking the lease, that was some kinda bullshit.

I'm almost 100% sure my lease said that you can't smoke...there is also a 15x15 inch poster next to the elevator that has a crossed over cigarette and says "no smoking, 500$ max fine." Besides there is a law that prohibits all inside smoking in BC (excluding very few places.) Well at least rented places.

Ahhh, that makes more sense. Personally, my lease doesn't mention anything about not being allowed to smoke. There also isn't a law in Chicago regarding smoking inside personal residences. So if that happened to me, I'd be pretty pissed, but I guess your situation is a little different.

There's a cigar lounge in Boston that I go to called Cigar Masters.

home, car, work and some lounges I frequent... Since the smoking ban in bars and restaurants came into effect here in the netherlands the search for places with a decent lounge attached has really intensified..

Work? I am surprised that your workplace is OK but there is a ban in restaurants in bars...unless you work alone.

This is disgusting.

It's interesting that people don't realize that only some 30 years ago, everybody smoked indoors and now suddenly they are treating it as some kind of terroristic act.

I like this quote from BC Gov website:
Quote:
How does the smoking ban affect the hookah bar in my neighbourhood ? Hookah bars are not allowed to use tobacco or tobacco blends within enclosed or substantially enclosed bars.
No longer will pregnant women and children have to breath in tobacco smoke in hookah bars!

In every season but winter, outside. In winter, I limit my cigar smoking to weekends when I can smoke in the hot tub. I have given thought to converting a storage closet into a smoking room with humidor, some chairs, and a TV, but haven't executed yet.

, its actually not allowed in the netherlands either.. But as i stated a while ago, my work right now is at a tobacco import and distribution company, would be a bit ironic if one couldnt smoke there
