You're supposed to just ask us for restaurant advice so we can tell you what to eat and mock you when your choices don't match up with our tastes.

It's insane how active the site is here in SoCal. My girlfriend uses it all the time and put a good review up for one restaurant we enjoy. We went there two days later after it was posted and made the front page. The host, recognizing her profile picture, immediately thanked her for the positive review as soon as we walked in and we were given a free desert.

I've been emailed apologies from owners/hostesses etc when I put up bad reviews.

In terms of restaurant reviews, chowhound.com is way better, imo. Yelp reminds me of zagats, which is terrible. The LA Times had a great op-ed in the food section on why zagats is junk.
