I may be wrong, but those measurements look like a 42R. Jacket size is usually chest size + 2 inches. So 44R would be 46 (23 pit to pit).

Thanks! It's unmarked, so I was estimating.

Also guessing there isn't anything in the waist to let out - at 39 inches. If so it could be taken back in 4 without pockets getting weird. Can you confirm that?

You mean 37 inches? 18.5 x2 = 37.

Actually there is an extra ~3" of extra cloth on the inside to be let out. I cannot speak to how much could be taken in as my knowledge of tailoring is very limited.

Thanks!

How much is there to let out at the sleeves and inseam?

Thanks

Not sure how to tell if sleeves can be let out, it feels like there's only an extra inch or so of material folded under though.

3" on inseam including cuffs.

you can probably take in 2 without issue in the waist

presume that was meant for me

problem here is the 44 chest with 19.5 shoulder. that's an odd combo unless it has big ol pad's. plus I'm not a fan of taking pants in 2-3 inches - it tends to mess up the lines - especially in a plaid.

seems like a great suit for someone with the right measurements. If it was shaped a little differently, I'd pick it up. great price for a great suit.

It does have big ol' pads, I should have mentioned that.

was not meant for any one person in particular.

with the measurements, i'd be interested if 1) the measurements are correct and 2) how the measurements were taken. If the measurements were slightly off, you're looking at a 45.5 chest with a 19.5 shoulder

or a 44 chest with a 19.0 shoulder.

or the suit was already altered down from a 44r if the measurements are right...

either way, for $75, it could be a good suit to toss the money on, and have a tailor have a go at it, cough, brian, cough.
