...what is a proper way to handle this kind of problem?
Cry? I used to ship USPS to save a few dollars. Then I sent a tie out on Monday AM which didnt get to its destination till Saturday, an office building...of course noone was there to receive it, the item sat till TUESDAY when the office opened up again. Of course the tie was gone., so to make good I overnighted the tie to the customer, Lost the tie, Paid overnight out of my pocket all in the name of saving a few bucks. Had it been UPS I would have gotten my money no problem. Needless to say I only ship UPS now.
