I say we all get together and try and get a centralia/skookum varsity jacket going on for styleforum.

perhaps two different colorways with little to no markings, just quality.

i don't even know that this is possible, but i figured if it was, best to have the backing

anyone know the price range of these things? a quality varsity is the one thing i've yet to own. a couple of years for lack of money i had to pass on a perfectly fitting one from supreme.

so,

who's up for it?

Mine cost $150 and took a couple of months to get the finished product. I'd be down for a collaboration especially if the details and fabric were interesting. They have a broad range of melton wool on hand and some buffalo check (mackinaw wool, I believe).

I'd be up for it, but I have no idea on what would look good for potential color ways/materials or on how to organize it.

Do they have some sort of factory store?

FYI, there are also two glove making companies in Centralia: Geier Glove Co. and Churchill James Glove Factory. I don't know if they have customer facing stores though.

I looked them up after seeing it on Selectism or ACL a week or two ago and they have some physical presence. I emailed the site admin and asked if I could come down to see, they told me to go to the address that is online. I may not go, I was convinced for an hour or so that I had to have one but now I am less enthusiastic. What do you think?

Meh. It's always been one of those places that I'd only go to if it was along the way to somewhere better and I don't think I'd want to go any time soon due to the recent floods. Plus, I-5 is incredibly boring after you pass Federal Way.

Yeah, I'm going to Oly then Portland and it would probably only add another 45 minutes onto a long, boring trip. We were thinking about going to the haunted bar and that crazy guys compound/art installation in Centralia though those would have likely been the only good reasons to stop. I may stop if a bunch of people on the forum want someone to look at the quality or something but I will most likely scratch it to stop by the DB Cooper bar in Ariel.

Possible color schemes I just came up with from looking at .jp sites:

* All black wool, black trim at cuffs, collar, and waist. Black trim at pockets.
* All black wool, with white/black stripe trim at cuffs, collar, and waist. White trim at pockets.
* Maroon wool body, grey wool sleeves, with maroon/grey stripe trim at cuffs, collar, and waist. Grey trim at pockets.

No patches or anything. Snap buttons on front should match jacket.

to know that the jackets cost $150 is great. especially if we could get them even lower by making a bulk purchase?

does anyone happen to know the price of their cardigans? obviously WWM and EG have a mark up, but it'd be awesome to own another one.

to amend robin's choices, perhaps we can have one in all wool, and one in a wool/leather combo?

does anyone know how good the quality of their leather is?

and i agree with no patches, as that would be extremely difficult to decide upon, but one of the features of the aforementioned supreme varsity was stitching on the sleeve right by the cuff. even if it was in the same thread color as the wool/leather, some sort of phrase. the supreme had "***** please" written. not exactly what i'm going for, but just food for thought.
