I went on vacation to Europe a few weeks ago. The combined effects of jet lag and being awake for 2-3 days straight in the airport/planes on the way home was totally ruinous for my sleep schedule. Anyway I'm back to going to bed at 12, getting up at 8, and I can't imagine I haven't paid down the sleep debt already, YET I'm still having this problem: during the late morning or early afternoon, I completely lose the ability to concentrate on anything. I don't feel physically tired, but it feels like my brain is functioning as though I were very tired. I've tried using melatonin to help reset the clock, but it doesn't seem to have helped much. Naps after I get home from work are very helpful, but obviously I have to wait until 5 and I hate having to take daily naps anyway. Has this ever happened to anybody else? Should I see a neurologist or something?
