Tishman has done well in Real Estate, obviously, but they don't know *anything* about marketing. What do they do to help traffic at the Rainbow Room? Nothing. How many people even know where the Rainbow Room is? It's famous, but I know plenty of New Yorkers who don't know where it is.

And then when you actually enter the buliding it is in (30 Rock) there is no clear way to know how to get to the Rainbow Room. There are people wandering all over the lobby of 30 Rock trying to figure out how to get to the place.

I'm not sure why they are pressing on Cipriani, given the arbitration situation. I could totally see Tishman raising the rent some obscene amount... and how many places saw rent INCREASES last year with everything economically heading south?

I don't side anywhere in the machinations, but to say that I always wanted to take someone special there -- for the style and in gratitude that Degroff and crew kicked off the cocktail revival. Damnable thing is I never found anyone I wanted to take there. ~ H

The Ciprianis suck. Hopefully some celebrity chef will open some hush hush posh spot in the space that can only be entered by speaking a secret password into a secret faux muni-meter located on 157/broadway.
