just wondering.

I think some points are valid, and others I don't agree with.

I appreciate comments about some of the pieces that I post simply because a lot of the outfits I post in WAYWN are experimental fits that I play around with when I get home. Most of the stuff I actually wear is similar each day and I don't bother to post it (and primarily MC stuff)

I agree that that particular Canali jacket has some issues but I think they can be fixed.

i hate to be the next bad guy but everything you wear seems like a terrible fit. maybe you need to try mtm or something if you cant find anything

Thanks for your advice. I'll now exercise my right to completely disregard it. I'm also overwhelmed by your stellar and perfectly fitting outfits. Oh wait, you haven't posted any... While I might disagree (at least somewhat) with Socal's opinion about that particular fit, at least he can back up his opinion with excellent fitting and creative looks.

I didnt mean to offend you. I dont think I have to post a fit or outfit in order to say something. A lot of people have said the samething as me ..your fits arent too great....

And im not going aruond saying stuff...i dont htink you need to back up an opinion with your own looks...

I asked a tailor a long time ago aboout MTM and he was just telling me its not all that necessary unless you dont have the right proportions for OTR which it to me seems like you dont....

Your comment was completely useless. If you want to give me constructive criticism about my fits go ahead. Something like "the jacket doesn't fit because the sleeve length is too long or the shoulders don't look right" would be fine and appreciated. "All of your clothes don't look like they fit, maybe you should just go MTM" is useless and is unhelpful. Also, as I have no idea if your idea of fit has any correlation with mine since I've never seen you post one, I'm just going to go ahead and ignore your opinion until you do.

well your idea of fit isnt all too great with the general consensus, and you saying something like that just goes to show you really do not understand your body type or do not understand how clothes should fit

and sure ill stop talking...maybe when I buy a digital cam (idk when that will be) I will post a picture and then go on saying that your fits arent too great which you will then ignore and come up wiht excuses like with everyone elses comments

the shoulders look horrible, the jackets too short...pretty much the same as everyone but ill eloborate further then I post a pic

Maybe you and others aren't understanding me very clearly.

I don't care what "the general consensus" of fit is.

I know perfectly well that the jacket is shorter than what is normally appropriate for business. That was completely intentional. I will never use that jacket in a professional setting. As far as what I like for casual wear, it's essentially exactly what I want (happenstance, as that jacket is exactly as I purchased it from a forum member)

I agree with other posters regarding the shoulder padding, and am going to correct that at my leisure, although, as I pointed out earlier, some of those issues are from the picture in question, which I will document later this evening.

As far as the sleeve length goes, I like my shirt and jacket sleeves to be shorter for casual wear, because I like my watches to be able to sit underneath the end of my sleeve. Maybe that doesn't fit within the rubric of the "consesus fit" but I don't give a fuck. Posting that you think the sleeves are too short is just wasting your breath because I don't intend to lengthen them. Feel free to say it, if it makes you happy, though.

Regarding the "datedness" of the jacket, I don't find it incompatible with the look I'm trying to cultivate, although I certainly own and wear more modern pieces as well.

If anyone else has any other comments, feel free to post them, and maybe I'll consider them, and maybe I won't. I guess you'll have to take your chances.

So, criticize away. This is actually what I wore tonight, rather than an experimental outfit that I posted for WAYWN. It's also RTW (with a bit of alterations)

Barbera

Isaia

The button stance (with roll), gorge height, and jacket shoulders are all great on you! I personally like this sleeve length better. The trousers could be slimmer, but I think tapering might be better than taking them in too much through the thighs? Nice shoes. Where's your pocket square?

The waist is actually pretty suppressed on this jacket, at least it was when I had it altered, but I have lowered my bf% a bit since I took this picture in february, maybe it's more loose now, I have a feeling that it appears less suppressed because I have my hands close to my sides, though. I agree about the trousers being cut a bit full. I had them taken in when I bought the suit, but I could afford to probably slim it a bit more. Since this is more for conservative business dress, I didn't have my tailor take them in too much. I could probably have had the waist taken in at least slightly more as well, but hesitated for the same reason.

I personally didn't mind the length of the jacket... a little short is WAY better than a little long to me.
