Thanks, LAG. Yes, thats my new store. I basically kept to the list I sent you...Paul & Joe, Penguin, Sugarcane, YMC, Duffer, Lee Gold, Velvet, ALD, howies... The mix seems to be working okay, with Paul & Joe on one end and howies on the other, Duffer being the bridge between the two. I'm also getting EG for the coming Autumn/winter and quite possibly some pieces from Krell.

my SA at the store emailed me mon nite saying Sir Paul was going to be instore tuesday, shooting some stuff for a video on him and asked if I wanted to come down and hang out with em. Anyone coulda gone, but then no one knew he was going to be there so it wasnt a madhouse like I was originally anticipating (he was there tuesday early afternoon so it was downtime for the store). As it turned out they shot some video of me and Paul talking about stuff, not sure what the final product is gonna be tho. I brought my copy of his "You can find inspiration in everything" book that he signed...."To Jason, thanks for being my best customer and the best dressed guy in LA" haha

JPGM...love the Trickers!! I saw your pic and thought "those look great, they remind me of Trickers...and sho nuff

^ That's so awesome.

If he turned out to be a real wanker with the stiffest of upper lips, would it have had any changed you perception of 'paul smith' / turned you off buying his clothes ??

I had already heard from quite a few folks who met him before that he is super nice, in a genuine way so there was no fear of that. But if he were a wanker, I suppose it would have me buying less of his gear, but good gear is good gear regardless of the loser behind it. I am able to separate the art from the artist. He has an amazing sense of humor, really quick on his feet and throws in subtle funnies at the appro moments.

Get Smart, if you die (God forbid), can I have some of your shoes? Just one pair, even? I don't really care if they're my size, I just want to look at them.

cheap, you DO have real shoes, we┬┤ve all seen them! more monk straps, cordovans, vintage work boots and clarks please.. and what happened with the gokeys?
true...

the gokeys and redwings are sitting right here in my office.... gokeys have a 1" hole in the crepe sole, so i need to resole them.

i dont know... ive always been a sneakerhead... ever since 4th grade when i would go to the local champs outlet and walk thru the isles of shoes and dream of having the money to get them insted of going home and doing my homework. its also easier to throw on a tee and sneakers than try to make shit work around shoes... im lazy and really dont care enough.

well I understand where you come from. Thing is that alot of your stuff is so "classic" that some leather shoes would look better with it than jordans imo. I got a lot of sneaks myself, but when Im lazy, chucks is the answer. I think retro runners are alot harder to get to "work".
