It's just a thermal under a button-front. I roll the sleeves on the button-front as normal, and just pull up the sleeves on the thermal, which is banded at the wrists, so it stays where I put it, more or less. Nothing much to it!

Ahh...it's a thermal. Makes sense. Good idea. Thanks!

It's not an all-around better camera... this is a good article: http://www.dpnotes.com/nikon-d40-vs-nikon-d50/

After handling D40 I have to say I prefer the D50 (especially because of the lens issue)... but as a new camera D40 brings a couple of new tricks and technological advancements (over D50).

For someone who's just starting out though and doesn't have a collection of Nikkor lenses D40 is definitely the better option.

I wanted something cheap, compact and good at taking pics. Admittedly I haven't done much research but generally you can't really go wrong with a nikon dslr. I wanted a point and shoot but the G7 doesn't have raw anymore and it is practically the same price. The d40 fits the bill perfectly.

Keep on posting guys. Jet is bringing heat as soon as that camera arrives. And he gets batteries. And he has time to download the images. And he has time to photoshop the images. And he has time to upload them onto Imageshack. And he has time to write up a post. If that doesn't impart a sense of urgency to you, nothing will.

Yea I know the D50 is an older camera, I use one myself and really enjoy it. But I really like the old prime lenses which are cheap and great lenses that won't work on the D40.

It also seems price for D40 and D50 is around the same area.

I just got the original "The Italian Job" on iTunes. That is classic, I can't believe I had overlooked it for so long. Great Mod style there. Also a great cultural moment capturing the movement just before the music (most commonly associated now) caught up to the fashion.

I know I'll get slayed for this, but I actually preferred the new movie to the old one...
