Braid and Hali are really sharp, and I'm liking shoreman today too.

Also, it sometimes gets a little old with everyone on cmf's jockles, but goddammit, that's jeans and a t-shirt done perfectly.

I will now refrain from posting about his fits for the time being, as there are only so many ways you can say "great as always".

I gotta say that you are the only guy I've seen, on the internet or in real life, who can wear Samurais (pretty much any cut) and make them look good. On most guys, they look too high rise, disproportionately big through the thighs, or both. I think that the problem is that the guys who buy Sams (mostly hipster kids) aren't the guys Sams were designed for (beefier thighed worker types.) This looks solid though.

You really, really, look like my brother-in-law in this particular shot, from facial features and body type down to your style... eerie.

Keep 'em coming. It's nice to see all the regulars out in force - Sauce, Rye, Cheap, Jason GS, Braid. And nice to see AHarris, Shoreman, Ott, and others coming out of the woodwork. And hey, Brian SD has even been lured out for some shots. Nice shots by newcomers like Ayn, Capyrno, Hali, etc... as well. Seen some nice stuff in the last few days. Brian, Karissa and I are going to have a hell of a time narrowing down to the top three. Everyone keep 'em coming...

I bought a Wrangler Blue Bell shirt today, but it needs some tailoring. My local tailor is way too damn expensive though, since she's the only tailor around this area. :/ Edit: think a cold soak would do it any good?

I think braid and ko on SuFu, among a few others, do Sammies right, but I know what you mean. I went on a mini-tirade a while back about how "classic" cuts keep it real and "modern" cuts are perversions annnnnnnnnd...basically I was full of sh**, which I realized soon afterwards. I actually think I have a pretty classic-friendly build, but, again I know exactly what you mean, and this is me eating some crow. Of course, "modern" can mean a lot of things - for example, I doubt the DH19 silhouette, to say nothing of April 77/Cheap Monday, will endure beyond another few years. Not saying it'll be done next spring, but I don't think it has the staying power of something like the SD-103, which has a "modern" low rise and slim cut but will still look good year in and year out.

Repro's look too full in the hips for me, but yea Cheap's Sammies look tailor made for him. IMO look better than his Ande Whalls

which is funny, because i have a pair of vintage redlines that, taking thigh, knee, and hem measurements, are damn close to the dior. of course the top block is different, but damn if my 80s 501 are 19 at the hem, 20.5 at the knee.

This shirt, as cool now as it was when I was nine?

Incidentally, the 5eps are 34 inseams. I wouldn't really want to go shorter, and I will stretch them whenever I wash them. I'm curious though; others have said their 32-labelled 5eps actually measure 34, but these are labelled 34 and measure 34.

Would you agree, though, that the 19s are very much an "of the moment" kind of cut? I like the way they look - not my style, even though ayn/Rye etc. do it really well - but they seem to be a purposeful exaggeration of you might call a classic taper. It's hard to keep track of all the damn changes to the 501 cut throughout their history, but I'd also guess that on the model you have, the leg opening widens as the waist increases in size, which 19s do not (right?). Speaking of Rye, well done as per usual - I like the tech-y jacket paired with the tech-y shoes. And I was just taking the piss* about your choice of background the other day - the old one was just fine, but I really love the black-on-gray thing here. And Oltmann, I don't know about the shirt - is it old enough to be ironic yet? I was def a comic book nerd back in the day... *I am the son of Englishman, and am therefore allowed to use this phrase (I think)
