Bought a pair of RRL jeans from SanDiegoFan. It was a easy transaction. Thanks SDF.

Instead of adding new replies, I am updading this one:

Bought a pair of Borrelli pants from Adambparker, received today as advertised.
Bought a couple pairs of Incotex from Edmorel, received today as well. Pleased.

Thank you both!

You're welcome.

A Guy from Shanghai asked a few questions, and promptly submitted payment. No problems here.

I just had some great experiences with idfnl (now my go-to guy for ties!) and sharwood (who was very gracious, professional and accommodating with a return and refund!).

I highly recommend both sellers!

Picked up some Pantherellas from fuji - excellent communication, quick shipping, and great prices!

Also can't say enough good things about seller holymadness -- excellent seller who not only has wonderful prices, great communication, shipped lightning fast, insured the shoes at full value on his dime, but also went the extra mile by checking in with me to ensure that the shoes arrived. This "above and beyond the call of duty" customer service with a personal touch is what sets certain sellers here apart from the anonymous sellers on eBay, and holymadness is to be commended for his being part of the elite group of Quality Sellers that are so valued here at B&S.

I have a question about a transaction.

I told a seller I was interested in an item and asked how he would like payment. He replied and told me paypal around 8:30 PM last night. I paid him at about 10:30-11:00 AM today and sent him a PM informing him.

I just checked my PM inbox and he told me that someone had paid for the item quicker than I had and therefore he gave it to them. The seller has refunded my money.

That really makes me angry and I feel like I was wronged. Am I right?

IMO, no. The seller pretty much has the right to conduct his sales however he would like. Personally, I think it would be somewhat petty to sell it out from under you within 5 minutes after contact. If you waited 14 hours, however, why shouldn't he take a sure sale? How does he know if you even have any intention of coming back to pay?

If he had not refunded your money promptly, you would have a complaint, but otherwise, this does not seem unreasonable to me.

Hard to say without reading exact wording of messages. Did the seller confirmed the item was yours? Did you mention you were sending the payment? "I'm interested" is an ambivalent statement.

I always assumed the sellers waited at least 24 hours. Is that a wrong assumption?

gdl - I told the seller I will take <blank> item and asked him how he would like payment?

It's the Gilt culture I guess. You've got 10mn to pay up or GTFO

I usually wait 72 hrs, but 99% of buyers pay within 12 hrs.

fixed for you

no. i think the seller should get angry if you were supposed to pay a certain day, and you waited till next day to pay. he has every right to sell to the next person to quickly move his stuff, unless you communicated to him that you may be delayed in paying and would it be ok to wait .
