I just received word from ShoNuff that the stollen goods have been returned to him! As a result, I am dropping all charges against avalemik and his "friend" who was apparently brought into this. My hope is that forum members please do the same. Guys, I just can't tell you how amazed I am with the forum members here. I received more than 20 pm's with support and tips on getting this resolved. Without all of the interest and pressure in this forum, it's doubtful I would have ever seen these again. I just ask you that now they have been returned, that avalemik be left alone (which was our agreement). I will be selling these now infamous jeans on the forum once received and washed and half of the selling proceeds will be going to ShoNuff for all of his hard work.

i'd still like to see this asshole pwnt. I'm very glad rioni got his jeans back but I dont think it solved anything really. He's just going to be the same asshole, but more determined, bolder, and smarter. He might actually USE netzero this time.

now that they're returned, get that fucker anyway. letting him sucker someone else/get away with it is weak sauce.

If we really wanted to and if certain people (actually just one person in particular could really really make this happen) on this forum wanted to help (and in order to find out his info, it would involve their help) this dude is toast. And i'm not saying the SF lynch mob show up at his house, i'm saying we'll have his info, this transcript and anything else we'd need to get this guy expelled from school, charged with mail fraud, etc. Its great rioni got his jeans back but I was damn surprised. Was hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

How did teh goods get returned so quickly? overnight or by hand?

oh so you "believe" ??? Its great that you helped rioni get his jeans back but just because you "believe" this kid is an angel isn't gonna stop a lot of people here. You've done your job so if you don't want to participate, dont. No one's asking you to be that asshole's rep. and he IS going to do it again. But next time he won't fail. And one more thing, don't believe for one sec that this type of shit ends with a story book ending. Its just this time, we were dealing with an idiot who disclosed his uni, didn't cover his tracks, and was obviously scared to shit. If anything this experience will have made him smarter. I do salute you for having restraint to not beat the shit out of this snot on the spot, I don't think many of us here could have had that type of restraint in this situation.

Sho... you are a really nice guy and very forgiving... but sometimes your compassion can be taken advantage of by those who aren't as ethical and moral as you. I'm not advocating one way or the other, but from what I read here, it seems like this kid DIDN'T learn his lesson and he doesn't seem the kind to "correct" himself without "guidance." He almost seemed to relish the fact that he "couldn't" get caught and was thumbing his nose for half of this thread.

The fact that he scammed a poker site and posted on 2+2 to gauge the seriousness of his crime and how he scammed rioni tells me hes just going to choose a new username, a better internet connection, and be more careful next time. I want to prevent that "next time"

I've been watching this thread and holding back my comments...but as a kid myself, I NEVER learned anything by people just telling me something - I had to be punished and then it finally sank in what I did...
And I'd imagine this guy (and most people) are the same.
If we don't give him a hard look at what he did - I can almost guarantee he'll scam again - this time someone with less "connections" than an SF member...who will be SOL...

I agree. Again, I'm not trying to stir up the lynch mob, but just to say, "I think he's sorry and he'll be nice now" is too-wishful thinking. I wish we could be all as forgiving as Sho'nuff, who is a really swell guy... but as a seller/buyer here, too... I don't want to see people like this being able to pull this shit.
