Hi,

I normally wear a B, but cannot seem to find any chukka boots in this size. Does anyone have a recommendation? Price under $250 preferably. Thanks

Hmmm...that's a tough one. The closest that I could find was the Alden unlined chukka, but the narrowest they come is a C width and they retail for $350. They are on the Leydon last which is not as roomy as the Barrie last. (I measure a C width and the Barrie's in C caused too much ankle-slippage for me.) You may want to try the Alden's and size down half a size. The difference between a B and a C for the same size is apparently 0.2" and going down down half a size will not get you that much of a difference in width, but it might work. Crockett and Jones has a chukka in a UK D width, but I don't really know how this relates to the US sizes. I suppose it is about a C ? They are about $300 (with free shipping) from www.pediwear.co.uk. If you are just looking for a suede shoe (chukkas are often suede), you can surely find something. How about a suede derby?

I'm bumping this because I need a good casual boot as well. I'm a 12 B.

Chelseas are pretty popular around here it seems. You could check out the RM Williams thread and take advantage of Australia's currency's misfortune.

I would, the boots look great, but I'm a tricky fit.. What has happened to people who had to return the boots to them?

Browsing around the various online discount shoes sources I happened to see AE Tautons out there at a very attractive price. I can't say that all sizes and widths were readily available, but it might be worth some time hunting around.
