I'm a big fan of knit ties as well. If you're looking for some at that price, your best bet is probably going to be thrifting or ebay. I've seen some nice Ralph Lauren ones on ebay before for around 30 bucks. Price is also going to depend on what material you want, too. Silk knit ties are going to run more than wool ones,

JCrew seems to be out of it at the moment. Hickeystyle.com still has it for around $50, although I particularly like this one.

Target has knit ties for about $20. They aren't amazing, but pretty decent for 20 bucks. I got one that was blue/off-white striped. I think they also had solid red and maybe solid navy or black.
And for knit ties in general...they attract attention. I've worn the one that I have once and I think that day I got more comments/compliments on that tie then I've gotten on all my other clothes in the past year.

i stopped in aa about ten minutes ago (there's one about a block away from work) and noticed they sell knit ties. any thoughts on these?

I love the Polo knits, particularly the silk ones. Unfortunately a quick search on ebay for "polo ralph lauren silk knit tie" shows most sellers listing them for $70-80 + S/H, though there are a couple really nice NWT one's starting at only $50 but those will probably go quick.

I've also noticed ties from discount stores attract more interest and attention than those from the more expensive stores...
