That's not an expense but rather a smart investment.

^Believe me, it cost me plenty... But, the end result has been a good investment, I guess.

Happy Birthday, Rube! Enjoy your day with the "friend(s)" of choice. Lucky bastard!

My parents have suggested I avoid the whole thing and never get married.

^I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand. Marriage can have a lot of benefits. If the right woman came into my life I'd consider it again, although she would have to be dead solid perfect. I've become very picky, as evidenced, I guess, by all the mindless posting I do here about women...

We senior citizens still rock once in awhile.

The whole iGent thing was misdirection. SF is actually full of iFratsters, as this thread proves.

Case in point:

Nah, most of the people around here are quite gentlemanly.

Just a few of us have "issues".

You should ask her, frame it as a compliment or a joke. Be like, holy shit woman, did you just down that whole bottle of tequila? And then if she says yes, call her a drunk. But like you're calling her a minx. "You little drunk!". Not like she's got herpes "You're just a little drunk.".

No, the trick is to horde all the attention on one's self.
