Can anybody compare the fit of the RL Albin to the AE Fairfax? I wear a 9D in Fairfax which fits perfectly around my slightly wide forefoot. I am considering the 9E in Albin.

thanks

what last is the fairfax on? I own the albins in 9E and they are a snug 9D in the heel. I have a acceptable room in the toebox. I only own 1 pair of AEs (Bradley), so I can't compare unless they are on the same last. If you find out that they are the same last, then let me know.

Apparently, the Bradley is on the 1 last and the Fairfax was on the 5. I'm kind of surprised at the description of the 5 given my slightly wide foot (for example, Grensons tend to be too narrow for me).

In any event, if you can equate Bradley and Albin, I should be fine.

The AE last list is at: http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline...0001&langId=-1

The description of 1 and 5 is below:

1 Last (511)
Similar to the 7 Last from heel to the ball of the foot, yet with a more rounded, fuller fitting toe.

Top Sellers: Leeds, Wilbert, Shelton, Bradley

5 Last (65)
This is the longest in length of all of our lasts; best for a long, narrow foot.

Top Sellers: Park Avenue
