Anybody have leads on good Afghan food? I've been to one place, I think it was in Crystal City, that I remember was good, but it was late and I was drunk.

And how about Filipino? Or do I have to go to Newport News?

I think I know the place you're talking about. Behind the 7-11 and CVS? They have the best Afghan food according to the Post. I think it's pretty damn good myself.

Afghan Grill. Near the Woodley Park metrorail station. I haven't been, but I've heard good things.

The Philly Cheesesteak Factory has a few locations in the area. Georgetown and Tyson's Corner are the locations I've been to. They have damn good Cheesesteaks, easily the best outside of Philly. They use Amorosa rolls and Wiz, if you're wondering.

There is a Philly restaurant in Woodley Park that recently opened up. It's run by Philly natives and only offers the best of Philly cuisine... according to them. I haven't tried it yet, but what the hell, worth a shot if you're up there.

If I was Burmese and you called my food Malaysian, I'd probably not give you good service either.

Personally, I can't get enough of all the Peruvian wood-fired rotisserie chicken in this area. God damn, that stuff is addictive and perfect.

Not to diverge too much from the topic, but does anyone have any recommendations for really good Mexican in D.C.? All the places that I've tried thus far have been more or less mediocre. Burrito Brothers is decent but I was looking for something more along the lines of a sit down place.

What places do you like? Have you been to the Chicken Place in Falls Church? That's probably my favorite, waaaay better than Edy's, which is across the street.

Also does anyone have recommendations for a good Greek restaurant? I know there is one in Old Town on King St., but I've never been there...

I love Peruvian. Haven't been to any places in VA though.

I've been to that Greek place in Old Town once a few years ago. I remember enjoying it. Can't speak to it's quality now.

In Bethesda, there's Athenian Plaka, which is great. Rockville has Mykonos Grill, also very good.

I also like Mourayo by Dupont. There's an excellent place called Cava in Rockville, and I think they're opening a location on the Hill.

Then there's my kitchen.

There is a cheap but awesome Greek place in Dupont across from the Q St. Metro entrance. Can't think of the name, but it's on Washingtonian's Cheap Eats list.
