Whey protein love! - Page 3

EAS seem like a big ripoff though, am I wrong?

How often do you guys take whey? I usually only take it for my post-workout shake (around 2 scoops)...

It's not something you NEED to take, so I wouldn't say I have a fixed amount per day. I just take one when I feel I need the nutriments and food is not an option.

As a vegetarian, it is damn near impossible for me to get protein without a shitload of tagalong carbs, whether it be from milk or lentils. I count on whey protein to supply about 100g of protein daily, 2 shakes of 2 scoops each. I get another 75g or so from milk, lentils and cottage cheese.

It's the cheapest on the market.

It doesn't mix easily, but I don't care.

Don't eat eggs. I was born a Hindu, so milk and milk products are ok but eggs and meat are not.

Anyone see the article and study Consumer Reports did on protein supplements? Many of them contained arsenic, lead and other things of that nature.

As far as taste goes, biotest > trueprotein > muscle milk > ON

There are far worse than ON but I wouldn't even consider them. As far as the best protein, they are all practically the same, ON is usually the best value though.

We purchased 15 protein powders and drinks mainly in the New York metro area or online and tested multiple samples of each for arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury. The results showed a considerable range, but levels in three products were of particular concern because consuming three servings a day could result in daily exposure to arsenic, cadmium, or lead exceeding the limits proposed by USP.

Only three of them were of particular concern (EAS and muscle milk being two of them that I already don't ''trust'').

And that's with a three daily serving which may be a bit much for most people. They also talk about how 250+ grams of protein daily is not a good idea...o rly.

I just skim through it so I may be in the wrong but it really doesn't says anything new but the old ''too much of one thing is never a good idea''.

Whey is for post-workout only Casein + whey is a better idea for meals... don't get over-excited with whey, its just whey. As long as you get some protein with fast digesting carbs pwo, you're okay

I've pretty much stuck with trueprotein for a while now. The prices on their recession whey 25lb packs is pretty decent, and I can down the damn thing unflavored. It has almost no taste which is a lot better than most of the other ones I have tasted where you need to add some kind of flavor to be able to choke it down.
