We purchased 15 protein powders and drinks mainly in the New York metro area or online and tested multiple samples of each for arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury. The results showed a considerable range, but levels in three products were of particular concern because consuming three servings a day could result in daily exposure to arsenic, cadmium, or lead exceeding the limits proposed by USP.
Only three of them were of particular concern (EAS and muscle milk being two of them that I already don't ''trust'').
And that's with a three daily serving which may be a bit much for most people. They also talk about how 250+ grams of protein daily is not a good idea...o rly.
I just skim through it so I may be in the wrong but it really doesn't says anything new but the old ''too much of one thing is never a good idea''.
