Any other Edmontonians here? - Page 9

Well, my first MyTailor shirt arrived today, and at $100 it blows away the shirt I got from Harry Rosen's Sartoria program. I e-mailed them again today to tell them that there's pent up demand in Edmonton and we want them to make a stop here. To all my fellow Edmontonians, shoot them a line at info@mytailor.com and tell them we want them to make a stop here in Edmonton!

Nice info.

Will do so, even though I am fast getting addicted to paying $35 for Italian RTW on B&S.

Ken Daswani, I think. He comes to Calgary often enough.

Has anyone heard about Edmonton's Harry Rosen expanding again? I saw another "coming soon" sign outside their store last time I was in the mall.

Also, does anyone from Edmonton ever make a 1-day run to Calgary just to shop? Or am I the only one weird enough to?

Haven't heard anything yet. I was in Holt Renfew the other day and was totally disappointed. It was far better before they renovated it.

I never go shopping in Calgary because I'm more of a streetwear guy and Edmonton has better selection.

I hit up Calgary stores when I visit family there, which is not often. But really, I haven't bought a single thing from a retailer since getting into the swing of B&S. I use brick & mortar to find out my size in garments that I later buy online for 20% of the price.

I have heard often that the shopping choices down there are no better than EDM, so I've never bothered. I considered stopping in CGY en route to Banff last month, but decided not to bother.

Save some driving time and cut through Cochrane instead of going through Calgary on your way to Banff.

I find the selection is marginally better. Brands are more or less the same, but the depth of inventory available for each brand is much better. I particularly like O'Connors and Forman's in Calgary.

You do more shopping than I do, Fidel, so maybe you can help me out. I need a boat shoe on short notice (i.e. by tomorrow or Friday morning). Henry Singer has nothing, Holt's has some alright looking Cole Haans (meh) for $200 (meh x2), and The Bay has a very modest collection of Sperrys for around $100, but none of which I can recall being actual boat shoes (more like mocs). Where in this city can I do better??

Try Gravity Pope on Whyte Ave (Right beside Juilio's Bario).

Ah good call, except that I'm looking at their website and they don't seem to have a single boat shoe listed. http://www.gravitypope.com/mens-shoes.php EDIT: Found some John Varvatos, but they're not particularly attractive and they're $335, far more than I'm willing to drop on a casual shoe.
