I thought some of you might be interested in this set. I really want to pull the trigger, but alas, the lack of storage space is cramping my style. http://www.gracioushome.com/webapp/w...-1_17509_10003

That's a fantastic deal, and the 5 Quart Oval Oven is exactly what my mom wanted for her birthday. You just saved me about $100, so thank you!

My mom has this set and likes it a lot.

I really cannot get into this stuff. I know I should, but I can't.

^ Yes you can, and should. Start with the round oven. Actually, in guessing at how well equipped your kitchen likely is, that IMO will be the only Le Creuset piece you need.

My mother has a lot of LC, including the round oven. It browns badly, everything sticks, and it does not deglaze worth shit. Give me All Clad or copper any day.

I know I am the outlier here. Maybe she got bum pieces. Or maybe it's the sea air. Or maybe I just don't know how to use it.

I like Staub a lot better, but I only have the 9-quart dutch oven. For searing and cooking meats on the stove, I've got stamped steel pan and a Lodge 12" pan skillet. My opinion is that you reach a plateau in quality with cast iron.

Bumping this back from the dead, did anyone who ordered from here receive notification of their item shipping?

I had forgotten about this for a couple of weeks, and then realized that not only had I never received it, I had never been charged, and hadn't even gotten any e-mail notification confirming the order. Frankly, I had just written it off completely as no harm no foul, and was just slightly disappointed as it had been a birthday gift for my mom.

This morning, out of the blue, the 5 quart oven arrived (with one day to spare!). So for anyone else who may have placed an order and not heard anything, don't give up hope.
