It's just the vibe I get after reading some of the other forums. And everyone is into slim sizes and whatnot..

ACtually I'm more like Belgian waffle thin, but hope to get back to regular waffle-thin soon.

Plus sized people are less likely to start a thread skewing the perception in favor of the pancakes.

At just a bit over 200 pounds, with a 46" chest and a 36" waist, my answer would be, aah...No!

Obviously OP has never had any of the gf's pancake's, those things could choke and kill a horse, then be reused as boat anchors.

Some are crepes, some are waffles, and some are muffins. We range all over.

I have a 47" chest and 32 inch waist. It pains me to see the guys in the streetwear forum than can wear the slim fit extra smalls when they are in their 20's. They have to look starved. I've worked out for 6 years but even if I hadn't there's no way no matter how skinny I was I could wear an extra small. Those guys have to be built like 12 year old girls

Yea they are, and it doesn't look either. I'm wondering around your proportions though, do you have a "football player" body build? I'm something like 38" chest and 34" waist. I just don't get how you can have such a large chest, if you were overweight your waist would be a lot bigger.

I think some of the what your observing results from the fact that a lot of designers make their clothes big for their marked size to accomodate the most people. So for instance I buy slim fit shirts but I would never consider myself as actually having a slim build, just a fairly standard build (15.5 to 16 inch neck, 40 inch chest, 34 inch waist). The standard fit shirts just look way too big on me. So a lot of people look for the slim sizes to get the best fitting clothes.
