The one on the right must be fake.

Hah, I was thinking the left!

The one on the left came from ebay on a last minute 99 cents bid. The seller didn't state it was Burberry, nor did he show pics of the back of the tie. But it came from HK with the Burberry labels. The one on the right came from Macy's via a closeout store which had a bunch of ties 2 for $15. I got that one & a nice thick Henry Jacobson.

so is there a consensus on the authenticity of the original scarf posted?

thought the one of the left was fake; the y seems to be too far from the rest of the letters.

It is. I'm reclining with scotch & typing with one finger. Notice in the pic of the saver, the font is in caps, then the font on the tip is lower case. Classic mistake. Plus the labels are just cheap looking.

the bag has very little to do with it. My sister works at Bulgari and sometimes, at employee sales, she buys ties that are packaged in that clear plastic bag crap. Sometimes, it's packaged in the real box with the correct booklet, but other times, it's packaged in clear plastic bags. Then again, I guess it's possible those are fake.

the tag on mine is made in Scotland, but then I guess they're also made in England too? and yeah the tag does seem a bit crooked, the tag for mine is also beige, but my scarf is black so maybe burberry just wants to contrast their tags but if it feels good, then there is nothing to complain about i guess, mine is very very soft' this one is mine, got it from the burberry outlet so i am sure it is real

Hmm I was just looking at the fabric and it looked thicker like a higher end tie would, but it's hard to tell by a pic! Although interesting how the authentic Burberry tie doesn't have a fabric loop... most good ties I have definitely have that as well as the label loop.

The fake one is very nice & I have worn it several times. I have yet to wear the real one but I know it will look good. In context:

After some close comparisons, the fake one really is almost better in that it is longer, so I can tie a windsor if I choose (being that I am 6'4" this is a plus) and a bit wider than the original:

My three scarfs are of various ages. The beige is about 20 years old. All were purchased direct from Burberry shops in the UK.
