That's pretty badass.

I have family members in the Scranton area where this guy is based and it really is the most boring place on earth. No wonder he goes to NYC to spend his time and money.

Although I am by no means a puritan about such matters, his conduct does seem remarkably worldly for a man of the cloth.

But, then, nothing much would surprise me about the Episcopal Church and its clergy these days!

I dunno...I would think that for anyone to spend 35K, plus 17K in tips just for a bottle of wine is a sin. But thats just me.

QFT. That $52K wine could have fed about a thousand starving Africans. Instead of fufilling the Biblical commission to feed the hungry and heal the sick, he's using that money to augment the undeserved fortunes of douchebag nightclub owners.

Only those who are members of religious orders are typically under vows of poverty. So-called "secular" priests may own property. In any event, the priest in question is an Episcopalian. Only a tiny minority of Episcopal priests are members of religious orders, e.g., monks or friars. This is in contrast to the Roman Catholic Church where a very high percentage of the priests are members of religious orders.
