I can pretty much guarantee you that it isn't real pot and if the prop guy was stupid enough to supply real pot he, and anyone else involved, would be fired on the spot.

I expressed myself perfectly, if you are too dumb to connect the dots of a quote by a member and a reference to him it's not my fault.

Also 4 people voted yes, he is one of them and 3 more people. I guess there are more idiots on this forum.

No, just 3 people who didn't care enough about the subject to do more than randomly play with the clicky little buttons.

Oh my God, this is more perfect that I could have ever imagined. Its amazing how much influence you have over a person if you are able to piss them off. This thread is the prime example, hes making an idiot out of himself for my amusement. Anyways who even calls pot Mary Jane anymore, you arent Jamaican or from the 90s

Fake.

Even alcohol on TV shows is fake.

Filming a TV show is a time consuming, stressful endeavor and scenes are often filmed out of sequence or re-shot multiple times. Wouldn't do to have your cast wasted halfway through a day of filming where they can start screwing scenes up and costing tens of thousands of dollars.

Not sure what they use - some of the herbal/non-tobacco cigarette blends look suspiciously like weed. I know they use apple juice for whiskey, from watching a "Making of" program about some cop show years ago.

Its supposed to be a reality show where 2 friends compete with each other in variety of gross, stupid and pointless competitions. So the out of order shots don't really apply here

Yes but the law still does. The fact that you made a bet with me on the subject gives away your real opinion.

Haven't seen it but my guess is that Vortex is correct as to how it's shot. Again, there's no way anyone brings pot onto a set.

There many scenes like: setting a person inside a furry monkey suit on fire, drugging each other's food with various pills, etc.

This shit could fly in real life but I would think a studio would foresee some real problems if all of these were "spur of the moment."

I think even the question whether or not it's scripted only comes up because so many kids watch the show, it is pretty apparent to anyone a bit older.

In the case of that show...odds are it is fake.

There have been a lot of instances in the past where drug scenes have been real (old SNL anyone?) or at least involved actors who were doing fake drugs on screen immediately after doing the real version in their trailer.

Alcohol is one that may or may not be real. If lots of it is being drunk, it is going to be fake most of the time but if you see someone opening some beers, there is no reason to go the hard path of finding prop bottles.

Stage is an interesting thing though...Smoking anything puts off a smell and the audience needs to get the right whiff to buy it (at least those sitting in front). Prop guys have found quite good ways of mimicking the smell of pot to the point of getting the occasional police officer coming up after the show to check their props. That being said, there will always be smaller productions where the actors are just stoned or even larger ones like the original runs of Hair where much of the cast was smoking real weed (or even a snoop dog concert...)
