Hello,

I am some time in Italy shortly, and I would like to try and buy footwear.

I though prefer English make (C&J, Alden, etc.)

Can you please provide guidance to where I can find those in Rome, Milano, Florence or Venice. Outlets will also do.

Thank you in advance!

Ask the British Embassy's Commerce Department if all else fails.

While they are made in Italy, SW1 in Milano carries utterly beautiful shoes that are inspired by the English makers. One of their lines is therefore fittingly called "Northamptonshire". The URL is: http://www.sw1.it

Many decent shoe shops sell English/Am. shoes: Alden; Trickers; Church's; C&J etc. Indeed the larger cities have Church's outlets: see their website.

There's a Church's in Rome near the bottom of the Spanish Steps.

Price? Have you seen the Sterling/ Euro rate lately? Tourist rate is below parity at the moment.

then he should go for eBay or Plal.com or a trip to a factory shop in Northampton, nowhere in Italy he will find good english shoes cheap.
But my point was another, as Italy makes great shoes why don't you go for them? There are fashion forward and conservative options too, Italy is not D&G only, ccffm1's suggestion of SW1 is a good example.
