My Vass Purchase

Well, thanks to the generous offer by Gabor and Vass to extend the special Sartorial Excellence prices to those of us who were unable to attend, my wallet is much lighter. However, my closet should be the beneficiary. What do you all think? Here's what I ended up buying: The Wingtip Reversed Suede with a bevelled waist on the P2 last.

Well, TDial, that's an awesome shoe and you're sure to love it. (couldn't resist. I just love that shoe.)

If you're size 9E, don't post your home address. Will look good (very good) from suits to jeans. Outstanding (really).

Beautiful shoe. Please post some pics of you wearing them, preferably one with you fending off the women coming on to you because of your dead sexy shoes.

The shoes might catch their attention, but once their eyes go any farther than above the vamp, I'm afraid it's a lost cause... Now if I only had a collection of say, oh, 1000 pairs of cufflinks...

That is a great shoe. I believe I saw it in person at the exhibition. Wear it well.

Saw it at the exhibition as well, and it was the one that caught my eye...

Interesting - I chose the same pair in addition to a pair of the Budapest Oxford Oxblood shown on their site under "Contemporary" - you've made me feel better about my choices as well. Thanks..

really nice

I dislike the lighter colored sole edges, but otherwise a very nice shoe. Enjoy them.

Well, I saw the shoe at the exposition as well, and they are very nice. Here's a question, though: since suede is usually just reversed calf, wouldn't reversed suede just be regular old leather?

Pretty. I looked at that one, went just a little more contemporary with the Oxford Medallion in Cognac from the contemporary collection. Can't wait to wear them.

I do not like them because : they do not look so thin & elegant (may be on feet it is different) the yellow thread make them look like worker shoes they are derbies and so can not be worn with a suit the color of the heel is odd they have a wing (conservative detail) but they are derbies (casual conception) I have never seen Vass shoes i liked. Are they all as "heavy" as the pairs we can see on this forum? I like thin shoes as can make Aubercy or Green.

Is it me... or do others have an image of Ernest standing at the Pearly Gates telling St. Peter that his robes look farmer?
