Going to try some on soon, but you can never get XS in stores. +1 for The Royal Tenenbaums, love the movie and the clothes. Zissou's av is money. Margot getting off the bus with Nico in the background gets me every time.
I went with a slim small instead of a regular XS, should be coming this week.

I'm totally acting like you asked me this question, Life Aquatic is my favorite too. Edit: Got my Jcrew stuff in the mail today. This is the first time I tried on a Jcrew shirt and I feel weird just saying that because its such a large brand; I actually said out loud "Holy shit J Crew is niiiiiiiice.". Amazing stuff for the sale price I paid. I want more.

I don't have the knee measurement but the hem is about 7.8 inches.
Thanks for the measurement. I hope the waist is not going to be too tight.

I made these measurements by zipping/buttoning up the chinos and laying them flat on a table. I align the front and backside top edges of the chinos and measure across the waistband from left side edge to right side edge and multiply by 2. I'm not sure if that is the correct way to measure or is the same way as you did it.

Any JCrew discount codes out there these days?

I'm looking to make a purchase online. Is it possible to use the student discount over the phone or online?

I also tried on my first Jcrew shirt. Picked up a secret wash Gingham for $12, and I think it was a decent deal, liked the cut except for the slight flare at the bottom

overall good purchase

Can anybody tell me the leg opening and rise measurements of the Officers chinos in a size close to 32? I emailed J Crew and they didn't give me the leg opening and the rise they told me was 9.5". That's low. Also, do they have other colors in stores besides what's on the website?

Does anyone know if the Jcrew linen shirts shrink a little after washing?

Thanks

Looks like the Slim Small is going to fit like an AA Small after a wash. I think I'm suppose to wash this shirt before I wear it.

Anyone know how much the 100% Oxfords shrink in the wash?
I'm surprised how slim the tailor fit oxford actually is, I could probably size up to a Small but I'm sure the "shirt tail" would be too long for my liking on a small.

But they can do both! I wouldn't expect them to do it to all their pants--just the ones that are billed as "slim fit." For men with tiny bird legs and no ass, J. Crew pants fit like shit. Their slim fit pants are great below the knee, but the ass and thighs could fit two, perhaps three Asian men comfortably. You old farts can have your classic, regular, giant, officer, surplus, etc. All I ask for is one pair of pants with sensible proportions for a man with a 30 inch waist, no ass, and skinny thighs. As it is now, I have to have all my J. Crew pants altered in the seat so I don't look like I crapped myself. I don't care what your aesthetic priorities are, dumpy ass pants are just not flattering. Also: No one has tried out their Ludlow suit? I think I might order one and give it a shot. If anyone else is interested I can report back with my data.
